Tanish “Tennish” Dewan is a youth white belt from Tamuning, Guam. He started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to learn self-defense and has spent the last year building confidence on and off the mats.

Tennish enjoys testing his skills against different styles and knows that the lessons he learns in training will matter far beyond competition day. He competes for GUMA with pride and a simple goal: keep showing up and keep growing.

Why did you start BJJ?

I started to learn self defense.

What do you enjoy most about competing?

Getting to fight different styles.

What motivates you to keep training?

Knowing that I'll need it one day.

Who has influenced your BJJ journey the most?

My dad.

What does representing our competition team mean to you?

It means the world to be competing for GUMA.

What is your ultimate goal in BJJ?

To make sure no one can pick on me or anyone I know.
