Why did you start BJJ?
I started jiu-jitsu because my dad introduced me to the sport, and it became something I grew to love and challenge myself with.

"Soph"
Sophia "Soph" Miranda is a youth grey belt from Chalan Pago, Guam. She started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu because her dad introduced her to the sport, and it quickly became something she loved and used to challenge herself.
In just over a year on the mats, Soph has embraced the excitement of competition — win or lose — and has already earned medals at Patgon and Copa de Marianas.
I started jiu-jitsu because my dad introduced me to the sport, and it became something I grew to love and challenge myself with.
I enjoy the excitement, nervousness, and getting to learn whether you win or lose.
Getting stronger, and the knowledge in the experience that’s comes within jiu jitsu.
My parents, teammates, and senseis.
Representing my competition team means being proud of where I train, supporting my teammates, and giving my best every time I compete.
It means representing not just myself, but the people who have supported me and the community that helped shape me.
I would compete consistently and gain experience at higher-level tournaments, and become more confident competing against stronger and more experienced opponents.
I want BJJ to help me become the best version of myself, both on and off the mats.
