Mylee Sablan is a youth white belt competitor from Barrigada, Guam who joined GUMA looking for a new challenge outside of paddling. In just one year on the mats she has already stepped onto the podium at local tournaments.
She values the friendships and support of her training partners, and she competes with the understanding that every match — win or lose — builds character. Mylee shows up to put her skills to the test and represent the team with pride.

What do you enjoy most about competing?
The thrill of knowing that a win or loss builds character.
What motivates you to keep training?
Being able to talk with my partners and enjoy my time there.
Who has influenced your BJJ journey the most?
My family & teammates.
What does representing our competition team mean to you?
Representing my team means that I am proud of where I train at and the people I train with are what help me throughout my journey.
What does representing Guam mean to you?
I have not represented Guam at an off-island tournament, but one day I will be able to say that is where I am from and show the great things we as an island can provide and show.
What are your competition goals for the next 12 months?
To try my best, put my all in what I do, and show people what I have been training for.
What is your ultimate goal in BJJ?
My ultimate goal is to know that I am capable of pushing through the hard days and all the work put in pays off in time.
