Why did you start BJJ?
My parents both did Jiu Jitsu when they were kids. Thankfully, my dad chose to restart his journey when they decided to have me train. Also, Sensei needed a partner for his son, my best friend Ares Tuck.

"Karterboy"
Karter "Karterboy" Cruz is a youth grey belt from Barrigada, Guam, training at Guam Martial Arts Academy. He started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu because his parents both trained when they were kids, and his dad restarted his own journey so they could train together.
Sensei also needed a partner for his son, Ares Tuck — Karter's best friend — so the mats became a second home. Over the last two years he has stacked up medals and keeps chasing gold alongside his teammates.

Getting the medals.
My best friend Ares. We've known each other since the gym was still in the works and we always push each other to do better.
My coaches, especially Sensei Jon and my Dad.
Everything. I am proud of everyone who goes out and does their best.
I haven't done a competition off island but when I do, you will know I am from Guam and I represent GUMA all day, every day.
Get Gold Medals again and be proud of myself and my family for always supporting me.
Be a Black Belt.
