Jasper “Jas” Alpet is a blue belt from the Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau. His lifelong passion for combat sports brought him to Jiu Jitsu, where one year of focused training has already carried him to gold medals on Guam and the world stage.

Jas competes for GUMA with the goal of testing his skills, supporting his teammates, and building a complete grappling game that he can carry into professional MMA.

In Jas’s words

Why did you start BJJ?

I started because I always had a passion for combat sports my whole life and always wanted to go places with my drive for it.

What do you enjoy most about competing?

Being able to test my skills against other gyms and support da boys.

What motivates you to keep training?

All the people who support me and the drive to one day take my skills with me when I make it professionally.

Who has influenced your BJJ journey the most?

Da GOAT Jon Tuck.

What does representing our competition team mean to you?

It’s an honor to represent our gym and continue to try my best to add good things to our name.

What does representing Guam mean to you?

I’ll always appreciate the fact I get to represent the place I’ve grew up on.

What are your competition goals for the next 12 months?

To add more world championships on my plate and to compete in MMA.

What is your ultimate goal in BJJ?

To be able to spread my philosophies about grappling with others when I perfect my craft and to use it in the highest levels out there.
